June Chunchi Chang
Personal Profile
Dr. June Chang has extensive experience working with students of all levels and backgrounds, spanning both college and pre-college teaching. She uses personalized approach to engage each learner according to their needs and interests, exploring a wide variety of musical styles.
Dr. Chang weaves music theory and history into her lessons, encouraging students to use their imagination and personal experiences to make their music truly expressive. She is also a strong believer in developing correct posture and proper technique from the very beginning. Professional, patient, and dedicated, Dr. Chang knows that open communication and cooperation between teacher, student, and parents are key to long-term success.
Dr. Chang is a member of the Minnesota Music Teachers Association (MMTA) and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). She was honored to serve as an adjudicator for the Thursday Musical and Schubert Club Regional Competitions in 2016, 2017, and 2023. In 2015, she chaired the MMTA Contest List Committee and has successfully prepared her students for comprehensive piano and theory exams, helping them achieve state, national, and international recognition.
